Lost Hunter Found After Signaling Sheriff’s Helicopter
The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office has issued a statement concerning the lost hunter reported last night.
Last night at approximately 10:50 PM Deputies were sent to a residence on Holt Lock and Dam Rd. regarding a overdue hunter. His friends advised he went hunting and was supposed to return 30 minutes after dark. The lost hunter, a 37 year old W/M also has several medical conditions. His friends advised they heard him shoot several times but could not determine his location. The on scene supervisor had additional units and the Sheriff's Office helicopter respond. Deputies then began to search along with the Helicopter and friends of the lost hunter. After about an hour, the Helicopter's TFO(Tactical Flight Observer) and pilot spotted the lost hunter signaling them with his flashlight. They guided the Deputies to his location, Henderson Rd. near Reichold Rd.where he was located. Paramedics were called to make sure he was OK. Other than being cold, wet and hungry, he was fine.
