Five elementary students all fifth-graders from New Jersey were detained by police after they were caught planning to attack a local high school, according to authorities.

The students are being accused building a device that investigators determined was not explosive and bringing to school to help them cause damage during a field trip to Clifton (N.J.) High School.

The students, ages ranging from 10 to 12 have been suspended from school. At this time no criminal charges have been filed but the investigation is ongoing.

Their names were not released because of their ages. What is this world coming to?
