The All of Us Research Program desires to get more minorities involved in biomedical research efforts.

According to WVUA 23, the goal is to have minorities to help in developing treatments and cures for various illnesses. There's just one little problem: History!

History has told Black Americans primarily that medical research includes the possibility of being injected with a disease without receiving proper treatment for it.  Add to that theories of population control methods and organ harvesting, and let's face it: Black people just aren't too quick to sign up for something that puts the body at risk to possibly being harmed intentionally.

Now taking plasma to help save lives and receive compensation for it? Sounds like a minimal risk and includes a good deed.  No problem. But exposure to a disease on purpose or testing a medicine for a preexisting condition to "see" if it works? It seems there's just not much trust there.
