Tuscaloosa Community Dancers is a not-for-profit dance company defined by the troupe's mission statement of developing interest in the art of dance since 1971.

Since it's beginning, TCD has partnered with Tuscaloosa's major arts organizations including Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra, Theatre Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa Community Singers and the Arts Council. These partnerships led to the production of many favorites such as Amahi and the Night Visitors, Peter and The Wolf, The Music Man, The King and I and holiday favorite The Nutcracker.

The Nutcracker centers on a little girl named Marie who falls asleep on Christmas Eve after a party at her home. Soon, she dreams (or does she?) herself into a fantastic world where toys become larger than life. Her beloved Nutcracker defends her from the Mouse King and after Marie saves his life, he is turned into a prince.

The Tuscaloosa Community Dancers first performance is December 4th at 7:00 pm with encore performances through December 7th at 2:00 when the curtain will close.

Support our local artists by purchasing tickets to see The Nutcracker. Call 752-4220 for additional information and showtimes or visit TCD online.
