Are 3-Year-Olds That Smart Or Am I Just That Naive?

My just turned 3-year old niece is living proof that our kids are aliens. I had the chance to spend some time with my little niece the last time I was home and I learned a lot. I have a new smart-phone. When I was visiting mom, my 3 year old niece came over and the first thing see noticed was my cell phone on the table.
Knowing she wanted to play with it I called myself being smart and I powered off so she could play with it should she get it. Well she got it. She started to fumble around with it I wasn’t worried about it because it was powered down and there was no water around.

Well after a few minutes I noticed she was quiet and obviously engaged in something.
She had powered the phone and found a game. Yes she was playing a game that did know I had on my phone. I was just in awe! I couldn’t believe the things she knew how do with the phone at 3. Oh she still uses the pacifier.
