Another Teacher’s Career Goes Up In Smoke!

It seems that of late there have been a rash of incidents where teachers have been arrested for having sex with students. A Montevallo High School special education teacher is the latest teacher arrested for sexual involvement with a student.

The accused teacher is 31 and turned himself in to Shelby County law enforcement authorities. According to the arrest warrant, the teacher had sexual intercourse with an 18-year-old female student. The sexual relations took place between September 25, 2015 and February 3, 2016.

The Shelby County Board of Education released the following statement: "Shelby County Schools take allegations of this nature seriously. The school district took immediate action when first made aware of these allegations. We are working closely with and in support of local enforcement; further comments will not be made at this time as this is an ongoing HR investigation."
