Alabama Power Awards Grant for Fire Prevention

Tuesday, July 28th, Tuscaloosa Fire Chief Alan Martin will accept a grant from the Alabama Power Foundation for the Turn Your Attention to Fire Prevention campaign. Turn Your Attention to Fire Prevention is a statewide campaign, launched in June of 2014 by the Alabama Association of Fire Chiefs, which emphasizes the importance of taking personal responsibility in protection from fire. It focuses on changing behaviors that cause most unintentional fires, with emphasis on unattended cooking and alternate heating sources, according to the Alabama Association of Fire Chiefs.

Tuesday's presentation to Chief Martin, chairman of the Turn Your Attention to Fire Prevention campaign, will be made at the Alabama Fire College Firefighter Memorial at 9:00 a.m. For more information, call 205-248-5420.
