It used to be commonplace for me to take 37th Street East/James Harrison Pkwy on my way home, although there were other quicker and straighter ways for me to get home. That ended when the road was closed for a number of weeks.  The other day, I took it for the first time since it reopened, and bbboooyyy let me tell you....

I started up the same as usual, turning from McFarland Blvd towards Bower's Park.  But once I passed the park entrance on my left and the mobile home park on my right, honestly.... I got lost. The road curved, and I had no idea where I was. I ended up at the light at the other end of the park.

Humored, I decided to go back through the park, take a left back onto 37th St East and pay closer attention. So, this time, I'm coming out of the park.  I passed the mobile home park, and as the road began to curve, I looked straight ahead. Do you know there's nothing that even resembles the former roadway?  I mean, all I saw was grass and trees.  I'm trying to figure out how they got grass and trees to grow in the little amount of time the road was closed.

Has anyone else gotten disoriented taking that route? Do you think turning into the park at the new light will take getting used to?
