Birmingham law enforcement authorities arrested 26 people in weekend operation in Birmingham's public housing communities.

Police officers fanned out over several projects from Thursday through Sunday. In addition to the arrests, officers confiscated a rather large amount of marijuana, some crack cocaine and two hand guns.

Tenants of each community raided expressed their delight that the criminals were arrested, and that this should be done more often.

The Birmingham Police Department does plan on doing the same thing again in the future. Of course they have not announced those plans.
